A holiday post from Brins

Greetings to any and all. The holiday period has ended, and now I have but two weeks of extreme ambivalence to come until school recommences. However - in England at least - there are those who have four more weeks, so there you go. I usually have little to say other than to comment on the preposition of there being a limited number of visitors at the moment, or to stage a good old paragraph of indifference, rounded off by everyone's favourite word: 'Fine'.

Well, truth to told, the same applies today. All other areas of existence aside, it is in the upcoming weeks that the widely dreaded examination results strike the nation's children at a presumably-determined-but-uncirculated date, meaning that most will have to keep a firm eye over their shoulder lest they get jumped by them. If you're in the same cruise-liner, just don't get conceited, or disappointment may ensue. You can't argue with a piece of paper in any day and age, so you'll have to suck it up if it's mean to you. But there's always appeals, so nevermind.
Of course, approximately 17 years from now 'it won't matter what grade you got', unless you intend to attend a high school reunion, in which case it may matter for several minutes further, but after that, no more.

On a side note, the King James bible ends with "The End". Funny, really.

Is that all? Yes. Goodnight to all of you, and 'good morning, good afternoon, good evening, whatever.' - (guess who)

So long from Brins

A holiday post from Brins

Just to let anyone know that I'll be off on holiday for the next week, not that you'd notice. I thought I'd tell you this, just in case there's someone who frantically scavenges the site regularly, looking for updates (I wish). You might find this information useful in some way, but other than that it seems the only one in any state of power for the aforementioned time would be my new colleague, Airburst. For simplicity's sake, any thirst for contact can be slaked through one of my e-mail addresses:
dodgemax@hotmail.com
So by all means, feel free to tell me something. Anything.

That's all for the next week. Stay well.

Another post from Brins

It's been a while, and I don't have much to report. It's the Summer holidays for me now, since I'm at school, whereas you're probably working or something (if you're there). Nevertheless, as regards the school fair referred to in the previous post, there was no Sonic video, sadly. I made do with Postman Pat, Karate Kid and a packet of chocolate chip cookies for fathers day.
It's most pleasing to note that I successfully acquisited a lollipop from the wheel of fortune (the top prize!). I was sucking on it 'til the end of the fair, which was good value for 20p.
The fair's changed its tune as of late, though, with more stalls cropping up to replace the games. It seems the fair has become more corporately geared as parents come to sell their various knick-knacks, and it's nice to see the school wising up to competitive financial and business-induced changes in the modern world, but I still can't work their blinkin' water fountains.
In other news, you may expect a new member to be tacked on to the team shortly. Though I gave him express instructions not to post on the site at the moment, he may well do anyway. Not that I mind, mind you. But if he does, I'm sure he at least wouldn't swear... would he?
We'll see...
